Fantastic book

January 24, 2024 By: Isaac (South Wentworthville, Australia)

Comments
It's a great little book, you can see that a lot of work and care has gone into its development.

Pros
Comprehensive reference guide for tooling, materials, geometry shortcuts, etc etc.

Cons
The book's QR code linking to this review page doesn't work! Also the book seemed expensive, but perhaps justified due to the high quality of colour print, grease-proof/plasticised pages, adhesive bookmark tabs, and free drill/tap size chart.

Invaluable learning tool!

An essential learning tool if you are starting out in almost any mechanical, engineering, manufacturing or design trade.

Pros
Ease of use, comprehensive, convenient.

Cons
Should have bought it years ago!

ENGINEERS BLACK BOOK 3RD EDITION

January 7, 2024 By: Daniel Hablethwaite (CRANBOURNE EAST, Australia)

Comments
Invaluable reference guide, a must have for any workshop or apprentice.

Pros
The laminated pages are fantastic, the pocket size is convenient, for the most part a very comprehensive book.

Cons
Could use an extra couple pages for notes. A couple of plastic sleeves to carry either a site handout, ID, or Sutton gauges would be handy to have with the book. Needs weld symbols; beam/channel weight/flange&Web dimensions would be really useful.

Great Resource

Great format for use in the shop, it should hold up well.

Pros
Well laid out.

Cons
Some of the references I use, roller chain sizes, are in the other books.

Awesome handbook

January 1, 2024 By: Andrew W (Ashwood, Australia)

Comments
The size of the handbook is great, and is packed with even more information than I thought it had in it. Great for a mechanical engineer.

Pros
References which standards it is sourced from. Graphics are simple and clear.

Cons
Contents page being divided into section may help looking for things. Otherwise it's not in alphabetical order, so doesn't have a clear order to it.

Seems more geared towards mechanical basis than for all engineers.
